Are you looking to revamp your current windows, but want to make sure you are making a positive investment? Whilst doing your bit to support the climate, opting for energy-efficient windows will not also save you money in the long run and help your home to stay warm on less.
The Cost of Our Energy-Efficient Windows
You may have heard that energy-efficient windows are more expensive than standard, single-glazed windows, and though this is true by a small margin, the lasting benefits you get from choosing them should not be overlooked.
Our range of energy-efficient windows is bespoke in nature, so the price of each one is dependent on a number of factors. This includes the size of the casement, your chosen style, material, and glazing options.

Choose Your Style
Just because you are choosing an eco-conscious option does not mean you have to compromise on aesthetics. We house a wide range of stunning new or replacement uPVC windows, all available to order online and manufactured to your exact specifications.
Our staple designs include:
- Casement: Our casement windows are made from a variety of profile suites, which means you can achieve the exact look to suit your home. All builds come with the option of A-rated double glazing and sealant to reduce heat loss long-term.
- Sliding Sash: Our uPVC variants are guaranteed to improve your homeโs overall energy performance. With their smooth up-and-down slide, our take on the traditional sash window is a truly timeless addition.
- Tilt & Turn: With all the same energy-saving benefits as our casement windows, the tilt & turn windows offer a much wider opening capacity, for unobstructed airflow and added versatility, able to open inwardly or tilt from the top for casual ventilation.
What Makes a Window Energy-Efficient?
Standard windows lose heat around and through the frame, as well as through the spacer bar and glazing. The most energy-efficient windows are those that are specifically engineered to strengthen these weaker areas.
Our energy-efficient windows are made from unplasticised polyvinyl chloride, or what is more commonly referred to as uPVC. We champion this frame material for a number of reasons, namely its low maintenance and high durability, its vast range of styling options, and, most importantly, its environmental friendliness.
Windows made from uPVC conduct less heat than aluminium and timber alternatives. This means that they hold more heat in the home and reduce the amount of energy you and your family produce.
How to Rate the Energy-Efficiency of a Window
The British Fenestration Rating Council (BFRC) launched Window Energy Ratings (WER) as a way of accurately measuring the energy efficiency of windows within the industry. Windows in question can receive a rating from A++ to E, and these ratings are established by calculating three distinct areas:
- U-values: This value measures the amount of heat lost through thermal transference.
- L-values: This value measures how much air is able to leak from around the frame.
- G-values: This value measures how much heat the glass allows to through.
If you are interested in windows that have an A++ energy rating, we can help. Using high-quality double and triple glazing in our range of homes across East Sussex and beyond.
Grants for Energy-Efficient Windows
The British government, along with local authorities and energy suppliers, have developed several grants to help people to save energy and money by various means. Some even offer grants for replacing the windows and doors in a home for more energy-efficient alternatives.
Most notable is The Energy Company Obligation (or, ECO scheme), which has been put into place to help vulnerable people and those reliant on income support improve the overall energy efficiency of their homes. This includes replacing faulty boilers and installing new windows and doors.
